Traditional preparation: Brew 2 tsp per cup of water. Combine spices and water in lidded saucepan. Bring to a slight boil, then simmer over low heat for 20-40 minutes, keeping covered. Strain. Once brewed, store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. To drink, combine 1 cup warm chai brew with 1 cup warmed milk or milk alternative. You can also add 1 tsp honey.
Quick preparation: Pour 1.5 cups hot water or hot milk/milk alternative over 1 TBSP chai spices. Steep for 5-8 minutes, strain and enjoy.
